On A Sleepless Night...

And so I sit here by the windowsill
The night’s dark and chillingly still
Gazing up from my ivory tower
I see the faded moonlight shower

I wonder why I toss and turn
Have I got a guilty conscience?
The world deludes
All sleep eludes

I wait, and I wait
As my head hits the bed
For the blanket of slumber to keep me warm
To keep me safe from my raging storm

I wonder when I’ll fall asleep
Wonder if your word you will keep…

Nadine,

I am no expert, but this is nice. Real nice.

I bet you were feeling so sleepy afterwards, during the following day. If I pull an all-nighter, I end up paying for it soon enough. I find myself cursing my biological clock, and then feeling too tired to be annoyed.. and I focus all my energy on keeping my eyes open (I do actually hold my eyes open sometimes, with two fingers from each hand on each eye.. it is a hilarious sight I tell you! And, if you're planning on trying that, don't bother. The damned eyes still shut themselves.) Have you found that too? Or is it just me? Plus it's very embarassing when you're in class, and the teacher sees you with your eyes more often closed than open. That happened me once. However, being the sweetheart that she is, my teacher was commenting on how sweet I looked to the rest of the class (who were by that time all staring at me as though I was some.. museum piece. Haven't they seen sleepy fools before? Jeez.) and telling me to rest more.

But it's worth it. It's a nice feeling, being awake with the dark sky (and the moon and stars, if I'm lucky.. unfortunately, most of the times I am not). You don't think so? :) And it also gives you valuable extra time, although this point can be doubted, as you end up losing time later on during the day.

Well Nadine (did I tell you I am still getting used to calling you that? lol :) ), I wrote such a long comment because I wanted to. I hope you don't mind its length. It seems as though all I am doing nowadays is writing two or three words, when I could easily provide you with so much more (relevant.. most of the time) nonsense that you may or may not read. (:D) Plus I enjoy commenting on your posts whenever I can. :)

Now am expecting a nice long comment back in reply... hehe! Kidding.

Take care, Nadine.

You talking about rabbits on the moon reminded me of this nursery rhyme:

Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such fun
And the dish ran away with the spoon!

Lmao... er. :S Rabbits on the moon remind me of cows jumping over the moon... hmmm. It's 02:21 a.m. here right now, and I am feeling a tad sleepless. Perhaps that explains this random mood schmood I am in. Plus I have just been reading Harry Potter. Do you have midnight bookstore openings over there, too? Went to one in town... good fun, good fun!

Goodnight, Nadine.

*Or rather, 4:30 a.m. bookstore openings... ooops! :)
